Little house on the prairie

Built in 1915,this home comes from a period when many residential neighborhoods existed alongside downtown areas and nearby industrial work. This community was shaped by immigrant families, tradespeople, laborers, and locally owned businesses. Many of the homes built during this time were modest but durable, designed closely together to support dense and walkable residential communities.

Throughout the twentieth century, the neighborhood experienced significant social and economic change. Like many historic urban areas, it saw periods of disinvestment as industries shifted and populations moved outward from the city. Some homes were heavily altered, neglected, or left vacant over time, while others remained occupied across multiple generations.

Today, the neighborhood continues to reflect layers of its history through its residential streets, and the mix of preservation, renovation, and contemporary redevelopment occurring side by side.
